All your questions, answered

The short answers to what people ask us most.

Unanswered question? Our team is available 24/7 to answer.

Ask us on WhatsApp
Do I need a company?
No. You can register a trademark in your own name. If you have a company, you can put it in the company's name instead. Choose when you start your filing.
What's a class?
A class is the category of what you sell. There are 45 of them. Clothes are class 25, makeup and skincare class 3, restaurants and cafés class 43. Your trademark protects your name in the classes you register, so you pick the ones that match what you sell. Our price covers one class. If you need more, we tell you the cost before filing.
Lebanon only, or global?
Both. We file in Lebanon and handle applications abroad too, such as the GCC, the EU, the UK and the US. Lebanese filings are priced on the site. For other countries we send you a quote, which can take a little longer to prepare.
How do I know if my name is available?
Ask for a free name check. We look for the same or similar names in your class and tell you what we find before you pay anything.
How long until it's registered?
We file within 5 business days of receiving your wikala, or within 24 hours with priority filing. After that, timing depends on the Ministry of Economy and Trade. Every step shows in your dashboard.
What exactly do I do at the public notary?
Bring your ID and the wikala text we send you, and sign it. You go alone; nobody from Get Markd needs to be there. Then upload the signed wikala in your dashboard or send it to us on WhatsApp.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Pay $700 at once, or $800 in 4 monthly payments of $200. We accept Whish, OMT, Cash, Bank transfer.
How long does my trademark last?
Trademarks filed in Lebanon since 15 February 2024 are protected for 10 years from the filing date, renewable for further 10-year periods. Marks registered before that date keep their 15 years until their next renewal. Your dashboard shows the expiry date and reminds you before it comes up.
Can I add trademarks I already own?
Yes. Upload a photo or scan of the certificate from your dashboard. We check it and add it to your account, and Watch can cover it from then on.
What happens after it is registered?
Your certificate appears in your dashboard, ready to download. We remind you before it expires, and Watch can alert you when someone files a name close to yours.

Until it's registered, your name isn't protected.

A name you've built on Instagram, on packaging or on a shop sign can be registered by someone else. Registration gives you the certificate that proves it's yours.

  • Stop copycats

With a registered mark you can act against anyone using your name or something close to it, in court and on online platforms.

  • Grow stress-free

Operating a business is safer when the name you've invested in is legally yours.

  • Own an asset

A registered trademark can be sold, licensed or franchised. An unregistered name is much harder to put a value on.

One inclusive fee, any country.

Tell us where you sell. We file in Lebanon and abroad, and send you one quote that covers everything: our work and the official fees.

One signature from you. We do the rest.

No office visits with us and no paperwork to figure out.

  1. Tell us your brand

Create an account and add your brand name, logo and what you sell. It takes about five minutes.

  2. Sign the wikala

We send you the wikala text. Take it with your ID to any public notary (Kateb Adel) and sign. You go alone.

  3. We file it

We file your application with the Ministry within 5 business days of receiving your signed wikala.

  4. Protected for 10 years

Follow every step in your dashboard. Your registration lasts 10 years from filing and can be renewed.

All we need: your ID and one signed wikala.

You sign the wikala alone at a public notary, with your ID. Your logo and a line on what you sell, you add online.

Clear prices. Government fees included.

Pay once, or spread it over monthly payments.

Copycats don't announce themselves.

A mark close to yours can be registered without anyone telling you. Trademark Watch checks every month and shows you what it finds.

5 years

If you used your mark first, you can ask the court to cancel a copycat registration within five years of its filing date. You can only act on what you know about.
